Permeable cover - water level fluctuation

Good morning,

I would like to know what cover you would prescribe for a large size lagoon where the water level fluctuate up to 6'.
We decided to stay away from solid cover as they have a tendency to tear, especially if the level is too low, with a snow load on top...
I have looked at several options. Right now, my favorite is the Hexa Tile cover from AWTT (

They also have an Armor Ball cover that would provide a bit less coverage.

It is mostly to reduce sunlight exposition and evaporation.
Do you have any other suggestions?

I've heard that ping pong balls have been used. Not sure I'd recommend them.
