Hi there,
trying to get Periodic Boundary Conditions working in Abaqus by making edits to an input file directly.
However I am running into errors (as expected) while running the pre-procesor and I'm not really sure what I'm doing wrong. I've followed some instructions I have seen whereby I must create a dummy node (and therefore a "dummy part" to hold this dummy node).
Upon declaring the part for the dummy node, I get an error in the pre-processor that is basically saying that it can't seem to see where node definitions end and element definitions start. This is throwing off my loading declarations and so forth.
The file uploader on this site kept breaking when I tried to upload any zipped or unzipped copies of the input files, so the edited input file is below...

trying to get Periodic Boundary Conditions working in Abaqus by making edits to an input file directly.
However I am running into errors (as expected) while running the pre-procesor and I'm not really sure what I'm doing wrong. I've followed some instructions I have seen whereby I must create a dummy node (and therefore a "dummy part" to hold this dummy node).
Upon declaring the part for the dummy node, I get an error in the pre-processor that is basically saying that it can't seem to see where node definitions end and element definitions start. This is throwing off my loading declarations and so forth.
The file uploader on this site kept breaking when I tried to upload any zipped or unzipped copies of the input files, so the edited input file is below...
