Hello,
I am in the process of building a pergola on my deck. It will look something like the first image I have attached, with wood framing and cables running lengthwise from which a canvas shade will hang. The second image is the framing that I have already constructed. The top members are 2x8s. My question is: will the 2x8s flex from the weight of the canvas hanging from the wires? Should I double up the 2x8s so they are stronger?
