PED - Pressure Equipment Directive

Does anyone whom is familiar the PED know if it is mandatory to test equipment (like hydraulic cylinder) using a chart recorder ie electronic pressure monitoring over time?

No, it is not mandatory.

The directive only stipulates the value of the pressure used for testing, it does not dictate the method of measurement.
