PE Stamp of MV Swbd Test Procedures? 1

I am being asked to supply test procedures that I have used to test relay logic wiring on MV Switchgear for a publicly posted follow-up bid process. I only shared these with people inside our company until now and the previous swgr was tested only with my full attendance and oversight This is for multiple identical switchgear we operate, not manufacture, but I am technical lead in charge of modifications to them.

Do such test procedures require my stamp? I feel so because of how integral and detailed they are in connection with the drawings I stamped. These procedures involve adding temp jumpers, removing wires, etc. These procedures test my engineering knowledge more than the drawing modifications.

What should I be careful of if I stamp them?

i think you are over thinking this. if you have a stamp, then yes you are required to use it. why would you be more careful with this than with anything else? if you are in charge of the testing, it really doesn't matter whether it was done internally or publicly, you are the engineer (in responsible charge) and are just as responsible and just as liable either way.

Thanks, cvg. FWIW, the main difference for me is that these tests will be a continuing process. If I am not around for the final switchboards to be tested, a stamped document in my mind is a living standalone document usable by others. Unstamped, I would think of it more as personal notes by which I was always personally overseeing and conducting the testing. In the end, I simply added a LOT of "qualifiers" regarding safety and the responsibilities of any who plan to use it, stamped it, and released it. I was just interested if anyone else ran across similar issues regarding testing documents and PE stamping.

all of my work is done for public and private clients. it all is stamped. work products that are preliminary or conceptual or draft not for construction / procurement are marked as such and do not require stamping. you could protect yourself by just using a "draft" watermark on these types of documents.
