I'm taking my PE exam next week (I know a bit last minute), and I realized I am missing a couple of referenced books (long story I did purchase, but never came in from Amazon [mad]). Anyone that has taken the exam recently, have you needed them? Should I try to get them overnighted by another source?(being Saturday it would be cutting it close)

OR better option, is there a place I can download the PDF versions and I will print them out? Paid or free? ACI has their online view able pdfs but you cannot print the whole book out.

Also if anyone has these laying around and willing to sell to me and overnight ship would be considered!

Missing:
[li]CMWD - Standard Practice for Bracing Masonry Walls During Construction 2012[/li]
[li]ACI SP-4 - Formwork for Concrete 8th Ed. 2014[/li]
Any advice is appreciated!

If it's PE Civil/Structural I'd recommend not bothering. I took that fall 2016 with nothing but the Civil Engineering Reference Manual. I passed an the only thing I got burned on is that I could have done a couple of questions much faster if I'd had my AISC steel manual with me. The books you mentioned seem pretty obscure for Civil/Structural. Are you taking a construction engineering option or something?

I like to debate structural engineering theory -- a lot. If I challenge you on something, know that I'm doing so because I respect your opinion enough to either change it or adopt it.

Yes I am taking the Civil Construction exam, so it deals with temporary structures and form work.

Thanks for the advice!

SP-4 you need...otherwise no.

I teach PE review courses in Florida...btw

Thanks Ron. Any last minute advice? I did the School of PE.

I did find ACI 347.2R-05 online in PDF and it was sufficient to solve the shore and re-shore questions. Do you think I still need it? Do you have a reliable source to get the SP-4 fast?

Thanks again!

Order SP-4 directly from ACI. Here's a link....SP-4

It's expensive....347R14 is a lot cheaper and should get you by

Thanks, I already have 347R-14. Sure having the PDF link would be beneficial. I am worried about shipping time when ordering with ACI, exam is on Friday, I am going to call them 1st thing tomorrow morning.

Thank you.

I did not need either reference, but things may have changed since I took the PE exam. I believe NCEES publishes a list of references, just make sure you have all of those on the list........and the correct edition! (I am familiar with the Civil portion of the exam, never knew there was a "Civil Construction" specific exam).

In case anyone reading this has the same question. I took the exam on Friday and I did not end up needing those books. What I had found online was more than enough to help with those questions. Thanks again for your help!
