I'm looking for a thin coating for brass and aluminum transducer housings that will protect the base material from saltwater corrosion. It will be sealed to a housing via o-rings (surface finish matters) and will house (via epoxy or urethane fill) electronics. Has anyone worked with parylene for this type of application or have suggestions?

If you're going to pot the electronics, thereby making repair impossible, why bother with a separable housing, or a separable seal?

The coating that I'm looking for will protect the housing that the electronics are potted in (the transducer) from seawater. It will be sealed to a larger housing where the processing and transmitting electronics are located. To combine the transducer electronics (there are multiple) and the other data we are collecting all in one housing without sub components for the data collecting devices is not economical because of the complications it presents (assembly, testing, repair and replacement of parts...)
