I am creating part families and have a question regarding reference sets.
If I have bodies inside my part family master that I want to have 5 extra reference sets show up
but other bodies within the part family that I want to only have 1 extra reference set, how do I go about making this possible. Every time I open a family member they all have the 5 extra reference sets. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Brots14,

An alternative might be applicable would be to use one reference set with all of the bodies and then use suppress by expression to eliminate the bodies that are not needed for a given part family member.

What you desire is difficult (for me) to envision. Aside from the ref set selection issues, how would PF members that were defined to expose a given reference set behave if that reference set were deleted or renamed? Conversely if new reference sets were added to the PF template are they retroactively added to the PF members or must they be explicitly added for each PF member? (a bit of an "always wrong" half of the time)

For the PF template to be able to define any member correctly is must always include all ref sets. The PF function "Apply Values" from a member that wanted to use "less than all reference sets" was ever invoked it would effectively modify the PF template and delete reference sets which are still needed by other PF members.

I understand the goal of the enhancement request and I encourage that the ER be submitted once it includes proposals to address these complications.

HTH,

Joe
