When exporting assemblies as parasolids, the individual components are given a "unique" identifier which is in no way related to the file name. When opening the parasolid assembly, various parts not releated to the desired assembly are called in, due to their "unique" identifier being used in other parasolid assemblies. The only way around this that I have found is to be sure to open the parent assembly "as saved" before exporting the parasolid assembly.

Is there any way to specify how the parasolid components are to be named?

If you export the file as a STEP file the file will retain the assembly structure of the assembly it's exported from. The trick is not to pick anything with the class selection dialog just let the export utility select everything for you or select the export existing file toggle and then specifiy the file you would like to export.

Thanks! I'll give that a try.
