We are having a problem with Pack and Go not working on our other machines. It works on my machine and we have used the Copy Settings Wizard (CSW) to configure all our installations the same as my machine.
To get P&G to work on the other machines we have had to do the following:
1. Create a new CSW file from my machine that copies all except the System Options.
2. On the “broken” machines go to C:\Program Files\CommonFiles\SolidWorks Shared and rename SwDocumentMgr.dll to something else such as SwDocumentMgr-xx.dll
3. Go to RUN and type "regedit"... then go to KEY_Current_User\Software\Solidworks. Select Solidworks, hit the F2 key and rename it to Solidworks-old. This will save your old setting and create a new reg key when SW is started up next.
4. Start SWX then rename the file from step 2 back to SwDocumentMgr.dll
5. Close SWX then run Copy Settings Wizard to restore your menu preferences and toolbars using the CSW file created in step 1.
6. Verify that Pack and Go works.
While I am willing to do this on our computers I do have a few problems with it:
a) It is aggravating to have to do this, but we’ll get over it if it solves the problem.
b) We lose the System Options and it is a PITA to manually set all these on each machine.
We are running SWX09 with SP 4.0 and 4.1. All machines are virtually identical with all other hardware and system settings. We looked into the repair installation, but there is nothing to repair.
We are convinced the problem lies with the CSW System Options transfer.
Does anyone have any experience with this sort of problem and how to resolve it?
Thanks in advance!
