Hello guys...I have a difficulty in determining the factors that greatly affect the rate of oxidation of Copper, Gold and Aluminum.

On the other hand i know that of the three elements, Aluminum has the highest tendency to oxidize,2nd is Copper and third is Gold basing on their Electronegativity.

You want oxidation kinetics and if you are talking air- its really simple- temperature speeds it up.

Thanks cloa..may i know the temperature ranges of each element that their oxidation is highly notable..

And Cu oxidizes solwly in (hot) air, but the oxide does not adhere (due to thermal expansion difference) .So Cu has poor oxidation resistance in cycling temperatures, despite a low oxidation rate.
