Dear All,

When calculating the uplift loads in API 650 it refers to P = deign pressure (see Appendix F).

If you calculate P in Appendix F and the tank is small the maximum design pressure could be very high. This would mean that a large number of anchors are required even if my "actual design pressure" limited by my PRV was much lower.

Can you input your design pressure as limited by a PRV or leave it as atmospheric if open vented or do you have to input the very high value of the maximum design pressure in Appendix F?

P is the specified design pressure. If you calculate the allowable pressure, you don't have to use that as the design pressure everywhere else.
