I have received conflicking information about the calibration frequency of a overspeed tripper assy for a AS\RS monorail aisle crane. We have our units set to be calbrated at 1 year intervals. The issue that I've run into is when does the time start for the tripper. I have been told from different sources that the date from inspection and calibration to calibration due date is what you go by when placing these into operation, where others have said that the time period does not start until installed on the equipment, meaning that even though it has sat on the shelf for 6 months you can install and run for 1 year before removing for recalibration. I'm hoping that someone can shed some light on this to help clear this up for me.
