I have a situation where I need to drag shear out of an existing 2" concrete-on-metal-lath roof diaphragm into new masonry shear walls. I need a mechanical connection that I can use down the length of the shear wall. Any suggestions? Listed below are ones that don't work and why.

The Hilti Kiwk Bolt TZ requires an embedment greater than my slab thickness.
The Hilti PDF's require a 1" min embedment (check, I have that) and that the base material be 3 times the embedment (this is where I fail.)

I am leaning towards a TAPCON screw because of 1" allowable embedments. But I cannot find any info on how thick the base material must be.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Powers brand concrete screws require a minimum of 1" extra concrete beyond the embed. I would think as long as you can meet that, most screws should be ok.

Another anchor we have used for shallow embeds is the ITW Ramset/Redhead Mult-set II RX -38 drop in that can be used with 3/4" embed.

I would call both Hilti and Powers to see what they recommend.

I have called both Powers and Hilti, and both said they did not have anything for the application. Thanks for your suggestions.
