We are experiencing a situation of an over heating CVT on the sub transmission network even without secondary load. Any similar experiences or suggestions to what could be the cause?

Check to make sure it's got oil in it.

If it does, take some out and do a DGA.

If you do, don't forget to top it up again. There isn't a lot of oil in there anyway.
