Ovals on a print

I'm trying to make an oval around some of the text on a print in NX. For some reason I can't use the sketching tools over the text. Anybody got any ideas?

What version of NX are you running? And exactly what is that you're seeing which is preventing you from sketching an ellipse on the face of a Drawing? Please provide at least an image showing what it is that you're attempting to do.

I am working with NX 7.5.I was trying the "Identification Symbol" icon to try to create a rounded box around certain text but it won't fit more than two characters. I've attached an image. Let me know if you have any ideas.

As you add more text you will need to change the identification symbol size, located in Style -> Symbols when you click on it

As jerry1423 has already alluded, the size of the 'Rounded Box' symbol does NOT automatically grow as you add characters to the text entry. Note that at the time that you're creating a 'Rounded Box' symbol, after you enter the desired text but BEFORE you actually place the symbol, you will see a preview of it if you move your cursor over the Drawing itself, and while in this preview mode, you can go down to the last section of the 'Identification Symbol' dialog, labeled 'Settings', where you can change the Size (i.e. 'length') of the 'Rounded Box' symbol and again, you can preview it before permanently placing it by simply entering a new size and hitting the 'Tab' key. You can keep adjusting the size until you get exactly what you need.

And if you're editing an existing 'Rounded Box' symbol, you use this same workflow to change both the content and size of the symbol.

Does anyone know how to embed a round box in text. I need to create large text notes and the drawing office standard is to place a round box around standards that are called up. I can do this using the Insert, Annotation, Symbol using round box, but I have to leave a space in my text and then if I edit anything in my note it all moves around. I can embed a box using <> commands eg "REWORK ONLY TO DESIGN STANDARD <&71><+>UES-6782<+><&90> " but this does not give round ends.

No, I think this is about as close as you're going to come to a round-ended box. BTW, if you wish for just a simple 'box', replace the <&71> with <&70>, but before you try it, <&72> will NOT give you a round-ended box, although I can understand why someone might assume that that was the 'next in line' ;-)

Now I have a drawing that will only create dimensions with an oval around the values. Is there anyway of getting rid of that?

Preferences -> annotation -> dimensions, turn off the "inspection" option.
