Hi all,

just starting to use Patran, coming over from IDEAS...

How do I control where my output files (*.f06, *.f04, etc) are saved?

I start Patran from a shortcut on my desktop, and my files are currently being saved in the "start in" folder, not the folder where the database file resides.

thanks for the help.

Score33,

I might be a pain in the ass, but what I am doing is making a copy of the short cut on my desktop. Right click and edit the start in to match the folder where you are working. So you can have as many copied shortcut as you have folder you are working in. That way, Patran will always save all the files in the right folder.

Another way is to double click on a database that is in the right folder and that way, Patran will automatically open in that folder.

I don't know if there is any other way, but it is my uneffective way of doing it.

Hope this helps.

thanks fl11,

I guess I'll use that unless anyone suggests something better...
