A few days ago i had a discussion with another constructor who says that for EVERY racecar there is a relationship between steering angle and wheels, which is the same for every car. I never heard such thing. Is this true?
Agreed. That's been my experience, generally, over the years.
I did, on one occasion in 1983, have a bit of a problem when my left front turned full left while I was negotiating the 180 degree right hand T-6 at the old RIR. That was rather unpleasant as I recall...Expensive, too.
They may have been describing Ackerman geometry and its effect on front grip. I don't agree that it should be the same on every car or race car or go cart or whatever. Circle track or road course would be different. Tire properties, especially if the left side is/are different than the right side also will define the required front geometry-by-steer functions.
Keep in mind that 'racecar' spelled backwards is still 'racecar'.
