Folks:
In my work I have many applications where a heat sink is required to draw heat away from a CCA and then reject it into the surroundings via natural convection and radiation. Can anyone point to one or more references that:
A. For a given heat sink size, provides the plate fin density and plate fin geometry that maximizes the rejected heat when the fin array is oriented vertically?
B. For a given heat sink size, provide the pin fin density and pin fin geometry that maximizes the rejected heat when the fin array is oriented vertically (fins pointing horizontally)?
C. Provide any rule-of-thumb or calculation that provides the maximum possible heat dissipation per unit area for vertical plate fin arrays and vertical pin fin arrays.
Thanks in advance for your support!
