Hi,

we are facing some issues with NX showing/rendering edges that should be culled away behind a surface. This occurs for example when we have a sheet metal assembly and when zooming away, some edges of sheet metal parts that are inside of the assembly begin to show. This occurs with edges/parts that are right under the outermost surfaces. This behaviour makes some of our drawings look very busy with unintended detail. So far we've managed with this by moving the through-showing parts to a hidden reference set and/or layer. But doing that will not always work, as you may need to revision parts to gain write access to reference sets.

Is there a way to prevent this, ie. OpenGL setting somewhere that controls how Nx treats hidden egdes?

Try using a smaller (tighter) display tolerance.

Hi, thanks for the reply! Where exactly is that setting to be found? I used Command Finder but that didn't seem to bring up anything useful..

Try...

Preferencs -> Visualization -> Faceting

...and set the Shaded Views 'Resolution' options.

What I suspect it is happening is that you're getting what we call bleed-thru which can happen with thinwalled models like sheet metal. Sometimes setting a smaller display resolution can help.
