Open vessel Evaporation Rate

I am looking for a method to estimate the rate of evaporation from an open top vessel given the size of the vessel, the temperature of the contents and the properties of both the vessel contents and the outside air.
I am putting together an evaporation system for a waste treatement system. I have an open top vessel that I plan to use as an evaporator. I will heat the contents using an electric heating element. I will then draft off the top to accelerate the process.

If you use a heating element then i guess that it is just evaporated equals heat added divided by latent heat?.
