Hello,

I need to open some very old Pro/ENGINEER files. Think they were 2001i or 2001i2.

Ideally would like to open them on a mac or iPad but could do in a windows xp VM too.

Can anyone recommend some software, or convert them to a standard format for me.

The file extensions are: prt.1 & asm.1

Thanks,
Matthew

You are going to need some form of PTC Pro/Engineer or Creo to do anything useful with them. Any newer version should be able to open them. They are just text files so you can see the contents in any text editor such as Notepad++. In the header portion of the file you can see what release of Pro/E they were saved as.
