One-way torque limiter? 1

Hi,

I would like to know if exist a "one way torque limiter".
Basically I'm looking for something that fully engage in
one direction while disengage with torque friction in the other direction.

There's also the wrap-spring clutch:

A variation of this is what is often used on bicycles with coaster brakes (as GregLocock mentioned), except that the wrap spring is internal and forced to expand against a drum instead of being wrapped around the shaft as on the above site.

sorry, I did not fully answer your question. Yes, I would use a combination of a one-way clutch (off-the-shelf) and torque limiter (off-the-shelf) which together would serve both functions; but the suggestions after mine may lead to simpler products. I haven't had the task of finding what you're looking for, so I was just offering different examples of one-way couplings (which do not have the torque limiting function).

Yeah, the bicycle application. This is a one way bearing with a brake when the moment is reversed at the axial. Recently seen one developed by my colleges, worked like a charm right out of the box.
