I am working on a pump and treat project to remove arsenic from groundwater. We are interested in monitoring the arsenic concentration in the treated effluent on a continuous basis using an on-line type of instrument. The intent is to have the monitor send a notification or alarm if the arsenic concentration reaches some setpoint.

Does anyone know of any companies that produce commercially available monitors that can be used for this purpose?

You might check with Hach. They manufacturer on-line analyzers for many applications. I do not think they currently have one for As but if there is enough demand they probalby would tool up.

Hach's web site is:

A friend of mine has begun the final stage of commercializing the first monitor of this kind. He is working on a contract with the the USAF to perfect it. I believe he has (or will shortly) have beta monitors ready for evaluation. The company is Brims Ness Corporation, the phone # is 207 723 7330 his name is John Merrill.
