OLE limitation in SW drawings

So, for years I've been using OLE objects and has always bugged me about the size limitations. Especially Excel, you can only go so wide and tall before it truncates the file. This forces you into splitting the table, or making the text very small and increasing it's aspect ratio, but then just a simple reset size to mess it up. I've requested this fix many times, but keeps coming back as a Microsoft problem....why can't they fix it?

Any comments or fixes out there?

You can't fix something in one program that is a caused by another. MS would have to fix it and I don't think they can since it's been here since SW introduced Excel tables into their software.

I found this not really sure if it expalins it in full, but SW KBA as some explaination.

Yes, I know, but if large software corporation can put pressure on Microsoft to investigate these limitations, it's a win win situation. If I tell MS they have a problem it's a different reaction then if the #1 Solid modeling company tells them they have a limitation. That's why I've pushing thru SW. Thanks, I'll check out the link.

That link refer to filename length Scott. Too bad, I've never really heard exactly why the OLE files act the way they do. Some it has to do with Page setup, but it only partially controlling.

keep trying though.

I am running into the same problem right now. Being Micro$oft compatible isn't always a good thing, I suppose. It's unlikely that Micro$oft will ever improve that just to placate SolidWorks users because they represent a very small percentage of Micro$oft's total user base.

This has been a problem since SW started using Excel in SW. There is nothing more you can do for this issue and it will probably never get fixed. You will have simply make text smaller and shorten your columns, etc...

SW has a KBA on this issue and what you can do to help it, but there is no workaround to this issue directly and there never will be since the problem is outside of SW.
