old cold form steel joists

Looking for some insite on old cold formed steel joists. I was walking through and old church addition and came across what appeared to be light gauge steel joists with a solid arched bar fastened to the web of the joists. Any ideas on what type of construction or age these are. I plan on contacting the cold form steel institute for some info.
