Hello all ,

I'm wondering if anyone have an idea how to design a separator that will be installed on a pit

after oil treatment unit for removing oil droplets from water ; the flow rate is 2 gallon/ min .

I have followed API 421 but it doesn't work for this small flow rate .

THANKS A LOT !

REGARDS !

Oil separators are typically purchased as an equipment item that is already designed and fabricated.

I'm assuming you mean what is typically referred to as an "API separator", i.e. a long thin tank which is calculated to allow oil of a certain droplet size to migrate tot he surface for final skimming?

Most people nowadays, as bimr says, would buy a small pre-packaged unit or a tilting plate interceptor for such use. Far more compact and efficient.

Also API 421 separators nowadays often don't meet the discharge requirements.
