Hello,

I am putting together a small gear drive and would like to use helical gears to keep it quiet. The only off the shelf gears I can find have a 45degree helix angle. The load is small enough, and the shafts are mounted on large enough bearings that I have no problem dealing with the large side forces. However, if I can purchase gears in the 2.5-5" range with a smaller helix angle I will out of principle.

Thanks.

Try Sterling instruments they stock a great variety of small gears and accesories in metric and US sizes.
their fax is 516-326-8827

Cheers,
