We are in the process of installing a "re-engineered" 273 KVA induction generator on a landfill gas-to-electricity project. The current name plate that shows "Induction Technologies, Inc." and "Unisine". We've exhausted all efforts to track down these companies. The original motor apparently has been re-engineered and reworked by these companies and that neither are now in business. Can anyone recognize the OEM from the attached photo?

Thanks!

Sorry I don't know the answer to your 'present maker' question.

I suspect that if you have a specific technical question we could answer it without any 'factory' help since these things are not particularly complex.

Nice ground wire! LOL

Now Itsmoked, don't be making fun of our equipment! The rat’s nest of wire in the foreground is for the connection to the 24V battery. As for the specific problem at hand, we are attempting to complete the grid interconnection application for this project. The application asks for (for both induction and synchronous generators):

Direct Axis Transient Reactance, X'd
Direct Axis Unsaturated Transient Reactance, X'di
Direct Axis Subtransient Reactance, X"d
Generator Saturation Constant (1.0)
Generation Saturation Constant (1.2)
Negative Sequence Reactance
Zero Sequence Reactance

With some very good help from the Power Transmission and Distribution forum we have nearly concluded that these parameters either do not apply to induction generators and/or is immaterial.

The 273 KVA induction generator w/capacitor bank was redesigned by Unisine and apparently reconfigured by Induction Technologies, Inc. Neither were the OEM and both are out of business. We have located two identical generator sets that have been equipped with WEG motors also redesigned and reconfigured by Unisine and Induction Technologies. We know the motor is not a WEG and cannot find any markings on the unit as to the original manufacturer. We could at least conjure some reasonable information form the OEM specs. I hope this clarifies our situation. Thanks!

Based on the pictures, in my opinion that is an old Chinese motor that somebody has imported and modified. Hand crafted fan guard and the style of conduit box, indicates to me that is was made in China.
