Does anybody have experience with a VAPEX hydroxyl fog odor control system? Rather than drawing air from source and treating it, the Vapex system fogs the wetwell (or manhole, whatever) with a hydroxyl fog. Curious if the "hydroxy" will attack anything.

Hydroxyl - as in hydroxyl ions, are more powerful oxidizers then ozone, chlorine, permanganate, etc. - so they will "attack" iron, steel, copper, aluminum, zinc, etc. - basically anything that can be oxidized by a high oxygen content to the water(fog).

we have products and systems being able to neutralize bad odors - please contact info@arbochim.com and specify the type or composition of bad odor (tht, acrylates, ....)

Magnesium hydroxide is used very sucessfully in odor control in wastewater applications and significantly reduces corrosion problems, so I would not expect the hydroxyl fog to have negative effects on your system provided the concentration is kept within proper limits.

The hydroxyl ions are used to neutralize the acids that are causing the h2s to form, if you allow the pH to increase too high, you may get the oxidation problems muddle mentions.
