using solidworks 2007 sp2.2

In addition to standard GDT symbols, welding symbols, surface finish, etc, is an octagon or hexagon symbol available in solidworks? If not, can a custom symbol be created and added to the symbol library?

Thx in advance.

In SW 08 you can put a Note (Annotation toolbar) and then enclose it in an hexagon or a few other shapes, in the Border dialog box.

I'm not sure if you have this option in SW 07.

Create the annotation note. In the Annotation Properties Pane, near the bottom, you'll find a Border section. Expand it and choose the shape you desire. There are also some options in the Symbols library. If you are using these shapes for revisions, use the SolidWorks Revision Table optionsfor this function.

One other point, upgrade from 2007 SP2.2. SW 2007 SP4.0 or SW 2008 SP4.0 are much better. There are serious file size issues with SP2.2 that goes back to 2006.
