I am searching for a simple process to increase the concentration of Oxygen in seawater (2-4 ppm). Will a 10-15 psig air pressurized vessel with a water flow in and out do it? Thanks for your ideas.
Should be relatively easy to do. You can increase the normal O2 content of seawater without pressure increase simply by replacing the nitrogen in the typical atmosphere above it with O2, given enough dissolution time. Normally gas in the water will approximate the partial pressure of each gas in contact with the water. O2 content in normal atmosphere of 15 psi is 30% so = 4.5 psi is O2, N2 is 10.5 psi. Water in contact with a 15psi atmosphere composed of 60% O2 and 30% N2 would tend to double its relative content of O2. You might just bubble O2 through the water from a diffuser as well, which would tend to increase the partial pressure of the O2 in the water, but the portion of the bubbles breaking on a surface free to atmosphere would be lost.
