I've tried recording a journal and macro to fill a drafting attribute for DESCRIPTION without much success.
Could any of you expert journal-ists mind helping me to achieve a nice solution.
It'd be nice if the journal would present the user with a dialog box in which they type a drawing description then press enter,
The attribute already exists in the drawing file and has some temporary text as a value. The attribute is linked to a box on the drawing border.

The best I've managed is for the attributes dialog to open then you select the correct line and type in the field, but i'm sure it can be done a lot better
Any help much appreciated.....

Try the code found in the following thread:
thread561-353249
But, change the "Material" attribute to something else (preferably an attribute title you are currently using) or else it will error out.

I don't have NX9 installed yet to test it, but it should work...

Cowski,
Thanks very much, that worked great, i managed to edit out the other 2 rows, to just leave one for "description"
i'm just playing with the stuff to get the box size smaller now.

Do you have any examples of a "if then" type journal?
I'd like the have a "rev-up" button, where a journal looks at "REV" attribute, and if it says "ORIG" sets it to "A" , if its "A" sets it to "B" etc, etc.....
