NX9 Create Point in a Sketch 1

Create a new file ... Create a Sketch ... Create a Point, but set the option to Cursor Location ... Create the Point

it's a bug, Siemens are aware of it.

Question though, why would you use Cursor Location? I can't see a need for it. Maybe the bug fix will be to remove this option!

The inferred option may pick up an endpoint, centerpoint, etc based on your snap settings when you really just want the cursor location. Using the cursor location option guarantees that you don't create an unwanted constraint and is faster than disabling/enabling your snap points. Just because you don't see a need for it doesn't mean it should be removed.

Note that this ONLY happens if you explicitly set the 'type' to 'Cursor Location' while creating a point. If you leave it set to the default setting, 'Inferred Point', then you will get only a single point.

Note that I just tested the next version of NX (which is being beta tested by 'real' users this week and next) and it appears that this has indeed been fixed.

So hold down the CTRL key and all snap points are disabled - much quicker than changing snap point intent. I don't see a need because there isn't one.
