NX8.5 - External Translators

I've just tried running the STEP external translator and received a message that UGII_JAVA_HOME isn't defined.

It's not, and looking at the install, I don't see the NXJRE folder.

How to install that ?

NX 6.0.5.3 (NX 8.5 Testing)
Windows 7 64

Java isn't shipped with Siemens products anymore....( as I have been told by Gtac )
You can download the latest free version ( 7 ) from the internet.

Making progress, but get the following message now ...

Java version is 1.7.0_25
This meets or exceeds the minimum required version of 1.7.0_03
\Java\jre7 was unexpected at this time.

I have the variable set as per UGII_JAVA_HOME="C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7"

NX 6.0.5.3 (NX 8.5 Testing)
Windows 7 64

I am getting the same message (running Java 1.7.0_17) but translators are running fine.
So I'm expecting there will be no further issues...it is just saying you are meeting the minimum requirements.

You are using Win7 64 bit...
You need to have the 64bit version of java as well.
That one shouldn't be in C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7 but in C:\Program Files\Java\jre7

Note that this issue, where the JRE (JAVA Runtine Environment) is no longer part of the NX installation, was FULLY DOCUMENTED in the NX 8.5 Release Notes, including a list of all of the functions and utilities which depends on the JRE. Also included was a link to the JAVA download site as well as specs on the various versions of JAVA needed based on which OS that you were installing NX 8.5 on, be it Windows, Mac OS or Linux.
