Hi,
I need to calculate the surface area of an assembly, for paint coating purpose.
What is the most accurate way to do this operation?
Analysis→Measure Face seems to be more suitable, but since I haven’t use this tool, I am not sure…….

Thanks

Measure face is probably your best bet.
Measure bodies will report the entire surface area of the selected body(ies), this might be a little faster if you are interested in the surface area of the entire body and not just certain faces.

if you have a assembly that is fitted together and you are not painting the areas touching. Look into Geo Wrap or assembly warp assemblies -> advanced -> wrap asm... set the distance tolerance closer. and and new sets of splitting plain to help sharpen it around objects. (if adding a plane don't forget to click the add new set or it will not accept your plane selection.)

Axis2084,
Great tip, thanks!
