Double check to make sure you are not working at the assembly level, you will not be able to use offset face on a component.

Look in the assembly navigator. Is the body you are trying to modify listed as a component? If so, you must either make the part you want to modify the work part (right click, make work part) or switch to that part (make displayed part).

I am working in a single part, no assemblies.
Thanks

OK, try going into...

Information -> Object...

...and with the Type Filter set to 'Face' try selecting the same face(s) which you're attempting to Offset.

To an Engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

Did you create this model or import it from somewhere else? Is the face you are trying to select part of a 'lightweight' body perhaps (such as an imported stl file)?

Yes this does work fine. offset face and move face commands are giving me this problem.

Try clicking on the 'reset filters' icon when in the offset face or move face command.

Part specific of face specific ?
I.e can you offset faces in some other part ?
- Can you offset other faces in the same part ?
check the type of face under Information - Object - pick the face and read the "face type".
