NX4: Cylinder Shown instead of Aerofoil?!

Hey guys

I'm new at the NX4 side of things so just bare with me!

I have an aerofoil type of shape part mated to a casing. Instead of displaying the aerofoil shape it shows a plain cylinder. If I click on the part it shows the aerofoil shape "inside" of the cylinder as it were.

How to I display the part properly?

Cheers!
Chris

My driver is up to date, but I don't know/can't find out about b)

Its as if the part is "loading" (you know, when you have hundreds of parts and you zoom out they don't display properly for a while) but it never does. If I select it through the assembly it displays it fine.

Here is a picture:
The way I made that selected subassembly was to open the aerofoil part, then mate the other parts to it, then save as. Should I have done it differently? (In the Assembly navigator it does not show the aerofoil part as a seperate entity).

Cheers

You should have added ALL of your components into a new assembly file. Now you have two versions of your airfoil (base part and sub-assy), and your sub-assy won't show the airfoil as a component because it is not a component, but part of the file itself.

If you open just the airfoil part, does it look OK?

If so, when you're in the assembly, what Reference Set are you using? If it's 'Entire Part', change it to whatever you've set for the Model, usually something like 'Solid' or 'Model'.

If this still does not help, go back to the airfoil part and make sure that you have not included an extra body in the 'Model' Reference Set (note that even if you can't see any extra bodies, they could be on a hidden Layer or they could be Blanked).

Anyway, check it out to make sure that you're not accidently including too much in the 'Model' Reference Set.
