Is anyone using a Flow brand water jet, with NX? I know the Flow uses a non G-code controller, so outputting directly is impossible (if it is, do tell!). So, we create flat patterns in NX, and then export a DXF. This still requires cleaning in the Flowpath software, to remove extra lines, gaps, and other anomalies.

We would like to streamline the process, and looking for others that may have been down this path.

NX 11

Thanks!

I don't have any experience with Flow waterjet, but I'm confident you could create a postprocessor for it, assuming you're using NX Manufacturing. We used to run an old Heidenhain controller that didn't use G codes and it was fine.

Interesting, I'd be curious to do that. I've written post processors in my past, but never for a non G-code controller.

Yes, please. I'd be interested in taking a look at them, and try to see how it was done.

Thanks. This should be interesting, it's only been 10+ years since I have worked with post building.
