Hello,
I am not familiar with NX nor with journaling. I've done some research and I found out about the partial result for offset which make it possible to offset surfaces that cannot be offseted normally if the offset value is relatively large.
I just want to make sure I can use this feature to offset my multi surfaced body using journals (SNAP) before purchasing any software. Btw is there a documentation that has all available commands with explanations?
Thanks,

I think you are talking about the "offset surface" command, as it has a "partial result" option. However, this command does not allow you to "offset surfaces that cannot be offseted normally"; it just offsets the faces that can be offset and omits those that cannot. Some manual work is necessary to patch the resulting openings in this case. You can use this function through the NXOpen API, but I don't think that using SNAP provides any advantage here. SNAP is essentially a simplified subset of the API that makes some common operations easier to automate. I don't currently have a SNAP license, but to the best of my knowledge, it doesn't cover the surfacing commands.

Offsetting surfaces is as you probably know a quite difficult job, - if the result shall be a valid B-surface without self intersections.
This is why/where the partial result comes in, in case that specific face will produce a selfintersection, it is skipped from the operation but other faces will still produce offsets.

There is also a "Rough Offset" type in NX which is specificly created to handle these cases where the input will give selfintersection offsets.
Instead of checking this by yourself, make contact with one of the sales partners and have them show you whats possible on your data.

Regards,
Tomas
