Hello!

I wonder if anybody can explain why do we need the Region Faces selection rule? Which kind of faces this rule is suitable for? Thanks in advanced.

Think about a painting job face selection. First select a required face and then select the boundary faces where you put masking tape.

@MFDO,
I like the painting analogy, that's a good one.

@Lockdain,
Imagine a complex casting made up of dozens of faces that are not tangent and don't belong to the same feature. If you want to select all the interior faces for some operation, the "region" face option allows you to collect all the faces in a few picks. The "tangent" or "feature" face rules wouldn't get them all and the "single" rule would be tedious. Attached is a very simple example in NX 9. I used the "region faces" of the "extract geometry" command to extract all the interior faces of the model.
