NX 8.5 Motion Simulation Export Video Quality

I am currently working within an assembly of hundreds of parts and am attempting to create a video for a presentation using motion simulation. Today is the first time I have used the simulation software within NX 8.5 but I have gotten everything to work correctly except for when I attempt to export it as a video. The exporting quality is quite terrible for a presentation and I cannot find anywhere to change settings for render quality and such. Does anyone know of a way to change export settings or any tricks/3rd party software to get around this issue?

You may wish to use an external video capture program like Camtasia.

Thanks for the reply John.

The problem I have with these external video capture programs is that I would really like to have my assembly be moving and play in a loop (GIF style). There is only camera movement in what I am doing within the motion simulation module so it is near impossible to get the movement to be correct by hand and the assembly is too large to capture the screen movement because it takes so long to render each step in the sequence on my computer.

Have you tried using Assembly Sequencing to simulate the motion of your Assembly?

This does not depend on motion analysis but rather uses the constraint relationships between Components in an Assembly to provide a 'kinematic simulation'. With the proper relationships and a motion input you can simulate the kinematic motion of the model. One of the features of the Assembly Sequence function is that we have built in a 'movie capture' tool which will grab a single frame of video for each incremental move of the assembly. This results in a a very smooth video where the are no fast/slow frames due to the complexity of the motion since each frame is captured in a continuous sequence.

Before going to sequencing and external capture software,...
1) what option do you use to export the video ?
NX 8.5 has a direct (non-rendered) export to movie option in the animations toolbar. which is "What you see is what you get"., by mistake I had the cursor in the graphics when i exported using this option and NX preselected a component in the exported video...
On the other hand, the export is extremely quick. No options probably exist .(?)

Or do you use the rendered output from File - Export - Mpeg... ?
Then NX will export rendered images, photorealistic if you have set the scene for this.
You can ( must ) set the options for the video size and frames / second etc in the View -Visualization - create Animation - Edit Parameters
You can also combine the Motion simulation with an "animation" where you move the camera etc.
