When displaying the idealized part, why is the body faceted as in the attached picture?

Is there a way to change the display of the faceted part?

I don't see facets in the attached picture, but it appears that you are using random face colors. Is this what you are referring to?

If so, try going to Preferences -> Visualization -> color/font -> part settings -> random color and turn off the random color display option.

Maybe my terminology is off, but yes that is what I am referring to. Why does this only occur in the idealized part? What is the purpose of randomizing ever face color?

- Justin Heckman

The 'Random Color Display' toggle is just another 'tool' that can be used to make it easier to see the different faces that make up the topology of a solid or sheet body (this also works with Assemblies). And once toggled ON, you can then use the 'Shuffle Random Colors' to pick a different set of colors just in case you still can't easily see the faces that you're looking for.
