Hi all,

I am looking into the mechanical fasteners library that comes bundled with the software...
What do you think would be the best step to expand it? Learning about part families and how they are made and build the components ad-hoc? Or does anyone know about part families out there in the marketplace that you can install? (Specifically metric parts)
I know about libraries online like TraceParts and such but I find it is very neatly implemented in NX and I'd like build upon that...

Appreciate any tips, thanks!
Cheers
Julian

What is it exactly you are looking for ?
The copy of the fasteners library on the install DVD is a very limited library, there is a larger library with other machinery parts such as ball bearings etc on the FTP server, free to download and install. The "Machinery Library".
But, if you for example would be looking for electrical or pneumatic components, there is no "free Siemens library" available.

Regards,
Tomas

Hi Tomas,

Actually, what is useful to me are all types of bolts, nuts, locking rings, socket set screws, nothing fancy actually I think. Basically DIN fastener items.
Thanks for the FTP tip, I'll check on that.

Kind regards,
Julian

Great!!
It even has some best practices!
At first I found it difficult to find but then I found this thread that even had a summarized walk-thru installation.
I installed the last revision of DIN and ISO. In the Reuse Library Palette tree I see that a bunch of empty directories were created under DIN and ISO. I guess it might be because the libraries overlap?
Anyway, NEAT!
Thanks Tomas!
