Hi,

I downloaded a part from a website which is drawn in inches but my other drawings and assembly are in metric units. I can assemble the downloaded part, but if I then draw a curve in this downloaded part and open my assembly again, I get the following error message:

The work part has been reset to the displayed part because the work part cannot have different units to the displayed part.

Also the drawn curve is not displayed in my assembly! How can I solve this? I need this curve to assemble another part on the downloaded part as a reference!!

You should really move this to the Siemens: UG/NX forum where I or many other people would be glad to help you out.

To an Engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

But to give you a quick recommendation, it may be in your best interest to simply convert the new part from Imperial to Metric units. This can be done using the ug_convert_part.exe utility which can be found in the UGII folder of your NX install.
