Good day to you all.
I've been running UG NX since 1996 and recently have come up against something that has me stumped.
With the company I am working for we do a lot of cloning of existing assemblies where the part data is very similar. This way we can utilize 90% of the tool design and just swap out the part data.
This has been working fine (and the cloning process continues to work fine) but recently I've found, on a couple of my cloned assemblies, that the file save process is taking a long time. On an assembly that is 350 mg (which is not a large assembly for us) the save process is taking as long as 9 minutes. The whole time the status bar is displaying 'Building file'. Then right near the end of the process the status bar changes to 'Saving' and you see the progress bar scoot across the display just as it normally does.
My saves are to my local drive.
It does not happen on all assemblies/parts.
I've run 'Part Cleanup' on the fully loaded assembly and there does not appear to be any issues with the model itself. I can navigate anywhere in the assembly and the session is very responsive... no delays of any kind. It's only slow when I try to save the assembly.
I'm wondering if the issue could be the fact that these assemblies have been cloned so many times.
It's also worth noting that when I'm doing the saves it's only the top two nodes that are being saved... not every part in the assembly. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Nemo
PS I'm pasting the last 'Save' information from my log file below:
