Dear all

I am performing Numerical analysis of excavations in rock which will be supported by shotcrete and thick liners at final stage.

Initially shotcrete of small thickness(50-100mm)will be provided as soon after the excavation of tunnel. Then the final lining of 1500mm thick will be placed at later stage and water proof membrane will be provided between this two layers. The water proof membrane will ensure that there is no seepage of water to the final lining layer. How can I model this sequence in the analysis?

In later stage the membrane may not work properly so pore water may infiltrate and induce additional loads on concerete liner, how to model this phenomenon?

Cheers

You have to have a software able to do staged construction analysis so that the construction of each stage is made in a special step/analysis.
