Hi all,
There is a requirement to provide manhole (DN600) on a vessel (ID 1000 mm). Design code is EN13445. This configuration is exceeding the limitations mentioned in EN13445-3 Clause 9.4.5.3 and 9.4.5.4 (attached). Does EN13445 provide an alternate rule for larger nozzle openings exceeding above two clauses?
Thanks!

You can use a shell flange.

Does the DN600 manhole requirement originate from EN 13445 part 5, annex C?

Justbplay with the thk, i think you can get away!

XL83NL,
Yes, the requirement comes from EN 13445 part 5, annex C.
Is there any alternate rule by which code allows this configuration?
Thanks in advance!

Raai2015,
It's not like that the configuration is failing in terms of thickness or reinforcement. It is easily passed.
The only concern is limitations on opening

Which nozzle diameter do you like?

r6155,
Didn't get your question.
Vessel and nozzle diameters are mentioned in first post above, i.e. manhole (DN600) on a vessel (ID 1000 mm)

Two question to better understand your situation;
- what’s the vessel’s length?
- does table C.3-1 provide any alternative options, like a head hole?

Huub

See EN 13445-3 Design
