Dear All,

Minimum shell nozzle elevation mentioned in the API 650, so my question is what will the maximum elevation possible?? for example one nozzle is 2" is is it possible to provide this nozzle at an elevation of 400mm?? or for 4" nozzle is it possible to provide at an elevation of 700mm? i know the API 650 telling only the minimum required elevation and the we are providing elevation by considering API 650 and service of the nozzle.

in my case the anchor chair height is 300mm, And distance between two anchor bolt is 1m only, So when we place any nozzle above 4inch then it will foul with the anchor chair. One method to solve this issue is combining the RF pad between the nozzle and Anchor chair Rf pad. by this way almost all nozzle RF to be combined with anchor chair. Another option is nozzle elevation to be provide above 400mm for all nozzle so that the fouling can avoid.

Please advise me which option is better. Both option is ok with API 650. But by considering the best industrial practice which one will be good option??

Please Advise.

Thanks in Advance :-)

You can raise nozzles if desired. Maximum nozzle height would be based on operating requirements rather than tank details.
