Hello,

I am putting a calc together for a conduit hanger where the conduit are fitted b/w W beams as shown. Flanges will have a notch to accommodate the conduits for snug fit. Can someone point me as to how I can find the capacities of W Beam with a notch in flange? The beam will bent about it's minor axis.

You could calculate the section properties by neglecting the depth of the notch across the entire length of the flange.

I would take the easy way and ignore the web, giving me 2 plates with a depth that's the minimum flange width at the notches.
